ABSTRACT

Arboviruses, a group of viruses that replicate in arthropods and can be transmitted to
vertebrate hosts, are transmitted primarily by mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects. The
most widely circulated arboviruses with epidemiological importance in Brazil today
include dengue, zika virus, Chikungunya and yellow fever among the best known. These
viruses can cause a variety of symptoms, from mild to severe, and represent a major public
health problem in many regions of the world, especially in tropical and subtropical areas,
as is the case here in Brazil. Vector control and prevention are key measures to combat
the spread of arboviruses, as well as advances in the development of vaccines capable of
preventing The population against these diseases can be the solution for the control and
reduction of cases of arboviruses.
