ABSTRACT |
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative pathology, which affects the nervous system, causing a neuronal loss, affecting the substantia nigra, causing symptoms and motor alterations, such as changes in balance, posture, gait, tremor, among others and not such as sleep disturbances, depression and anxiety. It is a pathology that is becoming more and more common over the years, reaching a general public over 50 years of age. Its cause is not yet known and its diagnosis does not have a defined biomarker, being based on a complex analysis that encompasses symptoms, physical examination, motor and immunological tests, among other factors to be recognized. Physiotherapy aims to work on aspects that facilitate the patient's daily life, minimizing their disability and improving their quality of life in general. This article was prepared based on a systematic review, with searches in the Pub Med database, with the objective of clarifying the pathology and obtaining knowledge about the application and effectiveness of physiotherapeutic interventions in the treatment of its possible dysfunctions and symptoms. |
